With a warm tenor voice and a great selection of songs, Danny's uplifting music can be the soundtrack for your life, whether you're praising God's name at church or just relaxing at a family picnic. His joyful presentation of Country Gospel Music includes everything from bluegrass to a smooth country sound, from rollicking gospel to thoughtful ballads. A favorite in churches, civic clubs and at other events, he has over twenty recordings including his latest single release “Mama’s Song.” It was almost not to be. He started in the ministry at the tender age of eleven, helping kids with Sunday School and performing puppet shows at churches and benefits. He started singing at fifteen and tried out for the youth choir. The director was less than supportive, sending a devastated Danny home. Danny knew there was something more for him so he prayed all night, "God if you will give me a voice I will sing for you." God answered his prayers. Not long after that he recorded a 45 that received major airplay on Florida radio stations. Still in his teens, he was offered to host a gospel radio show called Reach Out. Danny hosted the show for over eleven years and was syndicated across the country in the 80's and 90's. The show featured local artists as well as nationally known Christian performers like Sandi Patty and Amy Grant. His favorite CD “The Hands Of Time” has a wonderful variety of songs from the classic country sounds of "Keep Me on the Mountain" the pop gospel of "You're the Song I Sing." Some cuts are upbeat like the joyful hymn "Angels Watching Over Me" while some are more thoughtful, like "God Picked Another Flower," about someone who has passed and is now in the loving arms of our Lord. In the contemplative “I Was The One” a lonesome fiddle and crisp acoustic guitar help tell a moving story as he sings, "I was the one who made the crown." And as always, all of Danny's songs reveal to us the beauty of God's love. Other recent recordings include Here Today, You Raise Me Up, In a Different Light, Old Time Religion, The Collection and Christmas with Danny. Here Today was recorded with BK Cummings (Barbara Mandrell, Leann Rimes). We Will Stand is a collection of powerful patriotic songs released right after 9/11 and features his niece Shayna Riddle-Meers on the song “God Bless America.” He also offers several singles, including the heartfelt "Two Hearts in Love." All proceeds from the single goes to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Written by Micki Fuhrman, it chronicles the heartbreak of dementia but also offers hope as “two hearts in love can stop the hands of time.” He's planning another recording, a rockabilly tribute to his Uncle Ricky Riddle, that will take a few years to complete and will be titled “Don’t You Worry.” Danny says, "I love good ol' country music and my heart always goes back to the old songs of the church." You can hear that in every note of his inspirational music.
